The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) has awarded East Valley Water District the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its Fiscal Year 2013-14 Budget.
“Our annual budget document serves as the road map for the year and as a resource for our customers to see the projects and programs taking place in our District,” said Board Chairman Matt LeVesque. “We are very proud to accept this award from the GFOA for our commitment to meeting the highest principles of government budgeting.”
The budget document is East Valley Water District’s annual financial report and is intended to be viewed by citizens, local businesses, and other government agencies. The FY 2013-14 document overviews the $23 million program-based, results oriented budget. With a new layout and content of this budget document was designed to easily identify program costs and project priorities.
“East Valley Water District has now been recognized for both our Annual Budget and Comprehensive Annual Financial Report,” said General Manager/CEO John Mura. “This means that the professional financial community recognizes the great lengths that this District has taken in order to provide accurate and easy to understand information to this community, from beginning to end.”
The Government Finance Officers Association is a professional association serving approximately 17,500 government finance professionals. The Distinguished Budget Presentation Award Program is the only national awards program in government budgeting. In order to receive the award the document must be rated “proficient” as a policy document, financial plan, operations guide, and communications device.
