Highland, Calif., (July 24, 2015) – In 1954, the community voted to create what is now East Valley Water District (District), a California Special District to provide water and wastewater services. Formed by residents looking for responsible local government, the District is continuing this tradition with notification of the candidate filing period for the November 3, 2015 election.
“The District’s Board of Directors serves a valuable role to provide visionary leadership for the success of our projects and programs,” said John Mura, General Manager/CEO. “These community members invest extensive amounts of time in order to guide the policy of this organization.”
East Valley Water District consolidates with the San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters office for all elections, which will be conducted at polling locations along with the General Election on November 3. Citizens interested in running for office may obtain and file the appropriate documents at the San Bernardino Elections Office located at 777 E. Rialto Avenue in San Bernardino from 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. Candidate filing will close on Friday, August 7 at 5:00pm. The District has three seats available—two are four-year term and the third, a two-year, short term. Positions are all elected at-large.
